IFBB Figure Pro Pauline Nordin as She-Hulk

Marvel should take notice of IFBB Figure Pro Pauline Nordin if it's looking for a model for a She-Hulk movie character...

Roland Kickinger to Star in Terminator 4: Salvation

Roland Kickinger is a little busy these days, down in New Mexico filming the 4th movie in the Terminator Series, titled Terminator 4: Salvation: The Future Begins.

Set for a release date of May 22nd, 2009, Roland is playing the character of the T-800, which was the original terminator.

This movie picks off where Terminator 3 ended, where the Skynet computer has destroyed most of humanity. John Conner, who will be played by Christian Bale, and his group start to lead the rebellion against the machines. Roland Kickinger is set to go after John Conner, who will be protected by a good terminator, in this case, played by Josh Brolin.

Here is a synopsis released by Warner Bros...

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to be the leader of the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators, and the future he was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a Terminator whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they find out a terrible secret that may lead to the possible annihilation of mankind.

5 Critical Life Lessons You Can Learn From Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda is an animated movie that teaches several interesting life lessons, embedded in a predictable storyline. It is highly entertaining done in a Dreamworks storybook fashion. Even though we first watched the movie over a week ago, my kids can not stop talking about it.

In the show, the panda, whose name is Po, was chosen by a wise old turtle, Ooguay, as the dragon warrior to defeat the enemy. Unfortunately, Po was an unlikely character for he was fat and clumsy. He was viewed with much skepticism and doubt by his martial-arts teacher, Shifu, and the Furious Five: Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper, and Crane.

The highlight of the show, at least in my opinion, clearly belonged to the numerous spouts of wisdom and quotes cleverly delivered by the various characters. Animated or not, wisdom can be found anywhere. All you have to do is look and listen with an open mind. Here are 5 of the wise sayings that I picked up in the movie:

Living In the Now
Ooguay: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”
We don’t need to read Eckhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now” to learn the importance of the present moment. We can simply watch this movie, to learn from Ooguay about how necessary it is to let go of our past, doubts and fears, if we want be happy. Thoughts of the future or baggages of the past take away your joy in the most significant moment – Now. What matters is not what has happened or what is going to take place. Hence, be faithful to what you are doing. Treat each moment as a gift and you will live life fully!

You Can’t Run Away From Your Destiny
Ooguay: “One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.”
Ever had that tingling sensation that you are meant to do something else? Perhaps it is a dream that you have had since you were young. Or it may just be a recent awakening, like in my case. I have always thought I would pursue my grand idea of being an accountant or banker. Yes, I know. It sounds like a boring profession. But the thought of having an iron rice bowl appealed to me then. Even when I first started exploring opportunities on the web, making a ton of money was my first concern. Along the way, someone directed me to watch The Secret movie on you tube. Well, the rest is history. I never quite thought that I would be writing articles on self help and personal development. Nor that I would be interested in a coaching or healing profession. I am convinced now that I am threading on the right path, since I love what I do passionately. Each day of living this purpose feels so right to me intuitively. Hence, if you find yourself experiencing that sense of discomfort, that inner knowing that you are in the wrong job, or a purpose that you need to fulfill, perhaps it is time to ask yourself what your destiny is. Oddly enough, no matter which way you turn, this destiny calls out to you.

Things Happen For A Reason
Ooguay: “There are no accidents.”
If events do not go according to your expectations, then learn to stop fretting over your suffering and misery. Things often happen for a reason. It may just be a life lesson that you need to take. As we all know, life is never a bed of roses. If you do not recognize the lesson for what it is, you will find yourself continually stuck or attracting more of the same. You are in a vicious cycle, unable to break out. Step aside, take notes and learn from there. Then, you will find yourself moving on, becoming a more evolved and higher Self.

Your Passion Keeps You Going
Tigress: “It is said that the Dragon Warrior can go for months without eating, surviving on the dew of a single ginkgo leaf and the energy of the universe.”
Po: “Then I guess my body doesn’t know I’m the Dragon Warrior yet. It’s gonna take a lot more than dew, and, uh, universe juice.”
Admittedly, it sounds a little far fetched - to be able to survive without eating. But haven’t you experienced several times when you were so absorbed in what you were doing that you forgot to eat? It is true that our passions can keep us alive. Even in the most challenging of times, they have us going. A friend I came to know lately shared that her volunteer work in an Aids Organization helped sustained her during a time when she went into depression herself. If not for the patients who needed her and if not for the passion to help others, she would not have survived that period.

You Can Be the Most Unlikely Hero
Po: “There is no charge for awesomeness - or attractiveness.”
At the heart of the story, was a character with no apparent gifts or talents. He had to fight feelings of low self esteem and confidence. He had to endure snide remarks by the Furious Five. He had to undergo rounds of brutal martial arts training, that kept him from eating. Towards the end, Po unraveled the secret of the Dragon scroll from a meeting with his father. His father had tried to cheer him by telling him the secret ingredient of the family's noodle soup: nothing.
Things become special, he explained, because people believe them to be special. As you probably guessed by now, Po saved the day. He realized that he could be awesome if he chose to believe so. And he was indeed the Dragon Warrior, after all!
What you can take from the movie, Kung Fu Panda, is this: Take action to fulfill your destiny, even if at first you think you suck. You just need to believe that you are Special. And in pursuing your path, you may just discover awesomeness – or attractiveness – is who You really are; and there is no charge for that!

Lou Ferrigno Looks Back and Luckily Not In Anger

Hoping to recapture the magic of the original CBS series, Louis Leterrier, director of the new Incredible Hulk movie, invited the original Mr. Incredible, Lou Ferrigno, 56, to voice the big green machine and appear as a security guard alongside the new Hulk, Ed Norton. Ferrigno returns to the big screen in February playing himself in the Paul Rudd/Jason Segel comedy I Love You, Man.

Q: What scenes in the film left you most nostalgic about your series?
A: The opening sequence with Ed in the (gamma ray) chair took me back 30 years. They have him say the famous, 'You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.' And when I saw Ed watching Bill (Bixby) in (Bixby's 1969-72 sitcom) The Courtship of Eddie's Father.

Q: Bill passed away in 1993 of prostate cancer at age 59. When was the last time you saw him?
A: He really didn't want to see anybody. He was introverted then after his boy (6-year-old Christopher) died (in 1981) of an infection on a ski trip during the last season of The Hulk, and then his (first) wife (actress Brenda Benet) blew her brains out a year later. He was never the same. He came back to direct three Hulk TV movies, but the exciting part of him was gone.

Q: You provide the sounds for the Hulk in the movie. Did you speak on the series?
A: No, the growl was done by Ted Cassidy, who played Lurch on The Addams Family. I just recorded the voice for the film 2 1/2 months ago.

Q: The film gives another nod to the series by showing a gravestone marked Bruce David Banner. Why was the traditional Marvel Comics name Bruce changed to David for the series?
A: CBS felt that the name Bruce sounded too gayish, and they wanted David. I thought it was the most absurd, ridiculous thing I'd ever heard.

Q: Your Hulk fell from a plane to his death in the 1990 TV movie The Death of the Incredible Hulk. Did you and Bill Bixby discuss reviving your Hulk for the big screen?
A: No, but we were going to come back with The Revenge of the Hulk for TV before Bill got sick. The idea was that a scientist would find a blood cell that would bring him back to life as a super-intelligent being.

Q: How did you and Ed Norton get along?
A: I met him in his trailer. He was reading all these books about The Hulk. He reminds me a lot of Bill. They have the same intensity and connection to the character. We did our scene in about eight or nine takes. It was beautiful, like one Hulk to another.

Q: How does Ed's Bruce Banner/Hulk differ from Eric Bana, who played the character in the 2003 film?
A: Eric Bana looks like he could put up a good fight, whereas Ed fits the weakish look of the character.

Q: Do you have any Hulk souvenirs?
A: I have the largest collection of Hulk memorabilia in the world — everything from toilet paper, wallpaper, bicycles — all boxed up at my house in Northern California. I've had it for so long I think it might be time to sell it.

Q: How long did it take to transform you into the Hulk?
A: Three hours, and I was forced to stay in a refrigerated motor home so I wouldn't sweat. The hard contact lenses had to come out every 15 minutes. And the green wig was made of dyed yak hair.

Q: What do you think of Marvel's plan to unite Iron Man, Hulk and other classic heroes on screen in The Avengers?
A: It's great. I fought Thor in The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988) and Daredevil in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989). The Hulk, of course, won, and then they eventually teamed up.

Chemical Pink - The Movie

There’s some interesting news about Chemical Pink, the planned movie based on Katie Arnoldi’s novel about the world of women’s bodybuilding.

The project has gone through some ups and downs: Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk had originally been slated to write the screenplay, and David Fincher, who was supposed to direct it, both dropped out.

Arnoldi eventually wrote the screenplay herself and music video director Jonas Akerlund will now direct.

The latest is that he and producer Ted Field are now looking for someone to play Aurora Johnson, the main character - an aspiring female bodybuilder who moves to southern California to pursue her dream.

They were initially hoping to get a big Hollywood name to play Aurora - at various points in the process they were talking to Patricia Arquette (who apparently even started training at Gold’s in Venice and eating six meals a day!), Rosario Dawson and Jessical Biel - but in the end they couldn’t persuade any of them to take on the job. “It takes years to put on muscle and I just couldn’t see how they were going to make a skinny actress look like a bodybuilder in six months,” Arnoldi says.

Arnoldi said they now plan to cast a "real girl" instead. They are even talking about an American Idol-style reality show in which Arnoldi, Akerlund and Field would go around the country auditioning female bodybuilders for the part - what Arnoldi calls “In Search of Aurora”. That could mean an amazing opportunity for a female bodybuilder to play the lead in a Hollywood movie.

We'll let you know as soon as we know more...

Arnold Will Appear in Next Terminator Movie

Actor and Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in the next Terminator sequel - in digital form.

Schwarzenegger, who has starred in the three Terminator movies to date, has granted studio Halycon permission to use his likeness in the upcoming movie.

Earlier this week, Halycon entrepreneurs Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson announced they have bought the rights to the Terminator franchise and are planning to have a fourth film in cinemas by 2009.

Anderson says: “We’ll be using computer altered stock images of Arnold. That way we can span his entire career, from the frightening ’80s era Terminator to the ice cool T2 version.”

However, the actor, turned political heavyweight will still be personally involved in the next episode, and a further two instalments after that, of the series.

His representative Annabelle Gross reports: “He’s signed on as executive producer for all three pictures, and we are in talks for further appearance licensing.”

Marvel Super Hero Upcoming Film Projects

Marvel Entertainment announced its fourth quarter and full year operating results this morning, and with it came the news from Vice Chairman/Director Peter Cuneo that you'll be seeing the first trailer for The Incredible Hulk in early March.

The guess is that it will hit theaters with Warner Bros.' PG-13 rated 10,000 B.C. on March 7 (if that's true, make sure you call your theater to see if the trailer is playing with the showtime you're thinking of attending, as it will likely not be on every screen) and then with the R-rated Universal (the studio releasing "Hulk" in theaters) pic Doomsday on March 14.

Also, it was revealed that Marvel Studios will have one in-house 2009 release, instead of two like this year (Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk), but it's anyone's guess right not if that is Ant-Man, Captain America, Thor or The Avengers.

American Gladiators Competitor Belinda Gavin In Adult Films?

A lot of people have taken note of American Gladiator Alex "Militia" Castro's background in adult films, but it looks like he's not the only one on the show with resume bullet points from the skin flick industry.

Belinda Gavin, a female contestant on "American Gladiators," has appeared in a variety of films and television programs over the last 15 years. Some of them are SFW, others not so much.

Belinda Gavin's official NBC "American Gladiators" bio makes no mention of a film or television career, though Gavin has worked in syndicated television and adult films - it focuses, appropriately given the nature of the contest, on her athletic skills.

Belinda is a 36-year-old bull rider originally from Australia. She grew up on ranches in Australia and was regularly taunted and dared to do things even the boys wouldn't do. Her bravado stayed with her when she immigrated to the United States 15 years ago, leading her to become a bull rider. She currently lives in Burbank, California.

However, Gavin's media work history includes:
Bikini Chain Gang
Countess Dracula's Orgy of Blood
Bikini Airways
Sexy Movie

To be fair, a reading of the synopses and reviews of Belinda Gavin's films makes it clear they're far removed from hardcore porn. Closer to adult B-movies, her films have small quantities of skin and sex buffeted by large amounts of titillation, exploitation and cheesecake - not so different from "American Gladiators." (At least backstage.)

Stallone Puts Muscle Behind HGH; Raises Alarms

To get ready for the new Rambo movie, actor Sylvester Stallone, 61, has stated publicly that he took human growth hormone and testosterone, substances that supposedly promote a lean, muscular body.

But doctors and scientists who study these potent hormones say Stallone may be playing with more firepower than even Rambo can handle.

Steroids such as testosterone have long been used by athletes to bulk up, but the use of synthetic growth hormones for that purpose by such a high-profile figure has raised alarms in the medical community.

"These are not yet ready for prime time," says Marc Blackman, associate chief of staff for research at the Washington, D.C., VA Medical Center, who has conducted many of the definitive studies on growth hormone and aging. "This is still research; it is not to be recommended for clinical practice. And neither the long-term effectiveness nor the long-term safety have been shown."

What has been established by researchers is that growth hormone can cause or worsen diabetes, arthritis, heart disease and possibly cancer.

It's also illegal to use it in a fitness regime. Under Food and Drug Administration regulations, human growth hormone is a controlled substance that can be administered only by a physician. In addition, physicians must do lab tests to prove that the person being treated is clinically deficient in growth hormone, says Richard Hellman, president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

That's true elsewhere in the world as well, which Stallone learned last year when he was caught smuggling 48 vials of it into Australia. In May, he was ordered to pay $10,651 in fines and court costs.

Popular among athletes, bodybuilders
Growth hormone stimulates growth and cell reproduction. It is produced in the pituitary gland, the pea-sized "master gland" that sits at the base of the brain. It has been popular in recent years with bodybuilders and athletes because they believe it will increase muscle mass, decrease fat and allow them to more quickly recuperate after punishing workouts. It's also a drug of choice at many anti-aging clinics, where it's given with the promise of restoring energy, strength, vigor and sex drive.

But does it do any of those things?
Studies have found that it can slightly, but only slightly, increase muscle mass. And because it cuts down on body fat, it can give bodybuilders the "ripped" look they want, says Alan Rogol, a professor of endocrinology at the University of Virginia and Indiana University School of Medicine.

Not a sure thing
But there's not a lot of evidence that the hormone does anything else, says George Merriam, a professor and endocrine researcher at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Seattle.

"If Mr. Stallone is taking his growth hormone shots to improve the way he looks without his shirt on, the benefits that he's talking about may be real," Merriam says. But he says most studies have consistently shown that "there isn't improvement in physical or physiological performance."

As for the anti-aging effects, it's based on the notion that growth hormone production peaks in adolescence. It begins to decline when normal aging begins in the early 20s, Blackman says. By the time a healthy person is in his or her 60s, growth hormone levels are 30% to 40% of what they were at age 30.

But despite years of research worldwide, no one "has yet been able to show that supplementing growth hormone improves the function of the body," Blackman says.

And it can do harm. Early symptoms are aching joints, fluid retention and swelling. Some plastic surgeons give it just for the effect of fluid retention on wrinkles, says Roberto Salvatori, a professor of endocrinology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

It can also cause pain, weakness and numbness in the hand and wrist when the narrow tunnel of ligament and bone grows, crushing the medial nerve that passes through the hand. Sometimes it causes the abnormal growth of breast tissue in men, says Shlomo Melmed, president of the International Society of Endocrinology and a doctor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

There's also evidence that long-term use of growth hormone may cause cancer by fueling the growth of small tumors, Rogol says.

A cheaper alternative
And finally, growth hormone is very expensive and requires daily injections. A so-called anti-aging dosage for a year can cost up to $20,000, Melmed says.

But there is one easy, cheap and exceedingly healthy way to boost your growth hormone levels: go to bed. "Growth hormone and testosterone production peak during sleep," says Richard Auchus, a professor of endocrinology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

"You can actually get people to test pathologically low for growth hormone by waking them repeatedly during the night," he says. "I always tell people that if you want to maximize your growth hormone, get a good night's sleep."

Is Josh Brolin the New Terminator?

In a new interview with The Two-One-Three, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins director McG hinted that No Country for Old Men star Josh Brolin might play the new Terminator opposite Christian Bale's John Connor.

"We're prepping the picture right now. The script is largely done, whether or not we're able to prep off of it, obviously we want to continue to work on it, punch it up and we're hoping for an expedient finish to the writer's strike. But I've got my fingers crossed that in a week or two it will be over," McG said.

He added that the fourth film will take place "post Judgment day. So there really is no continuation, you know what I mean? Its sort of a different animal, whereas the first two pictures on this thing are Terminators from the future, this picture takes place in 2019."

There's been rumors that John Connor will only be a small part in the film. Not so, says McG. "John Connor's a major player in it - Christian Bale's playing that part."

Asked who his "dream Terminator" would be? McG revealed, "...And there's guys out there like Russell Crowe and Eric Bana, bring a good physicality, they do what they do, but I don't know if they're exactly right at the end of the day. Josh Brolin is a very exciting actor - we'll see."

Rhona Mitra Kicking Ass in Doomsday

A lethal virus spreads throughout a major country and kills hundreds of thousands. To contain the newly identified Reaper, the authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The literal walling-off works for three decades – until Reaper violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare...

The new trailer for Doomsday looks awesome. Doomsday is the third film from British horror director Neil Marshall, who in recent years has brought us the excellent horror movies “Dog Soldiers” (Fantastic werewolf flick) and “The Descent” (Don’t get stuck in a cave).

The movie as a whole looks like a cross between Tomb Raider and Escape from New York, and Female Lead (former Tomb Raider model) Rhona Mitra looks like she's been spending some serious time in the gym.
