Monica Brant Withdraws From 2008 IFBB Figure International

According to Flex Online, the biggest name in figure has withdrawn from the 2008 IFBB Figure International.

The 37-year--old Brant last competed in the IFBB Figure International in 2006, placing second behind eventual champion Mary Lado. The runner-up finish was Brant's fourth consecutive.

Brant is the second high-profile figure athlete to withdraw from the 2008 IFBB Figure International in the last week. Valerie Waugaman, a gladiator on the NBC hit show American Gladiators, officially withdrew earlier in the week.

Brant's withdrawal leaves her competitive future in doubt, as rumors were abound that the past IFBB Figure Olympia (2007) could be her last. Those rumors intensified after Brant fell to 7th place, placing out of the top three for the first time in her career. If she chooses to give the Figure Olympia stage another try, Brant first will have to qualify at another contest.
